Gerard has extensive media and corporate experience, having worked for companies such as sponsorship and talent management agency International Quarterback, media organisations Network Ten and Sky Channel, and Australia’s largest wagering operator, Tabcorp.
With over 20 years media and corporate experience in the racing, wagering and sport and media industry, Gerard has at one time or another been heavily involved in the commercial and legal negotiations to acquire or sell media rights associated with most leading sporting and racing bodies in Australia.
Gerard was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2002 and holds a current Australian legal practising certificate.
Established in 2016, Box Seat Media specialises in the racing, wagering and sport industry providing clients with consulting services and strategic advice. Current clients include statutory racing bodies, racing and sporting clubs and several leading media and wagering entities. Box Seat Media, owned and led by Gerard Patane, is a specialised consulting firm delivering expert insights and innovative strategies in racing, wagering, and sports media.
